Massage Therapy &
Karen believes our centre embodies the true concept of holistic healing with its professional yet warm (friendly) approach to servicing our valued clientele.
Her journey in the health and wellness industry spans just shy of two decades.
Karen’s early career days was in retail (fashion shoes then sports store), developing my customer service skills
Throughout this time she had a strong passion for weight training and competed body-shaping contests. This is where her interest in human movement and nutrition began and led her to embark on my Remedial Massage Therapy studies in 1998, and later on included Clinical Aromatherapy.
Karen began her private practice in the following year, and enjoyed growing the business over the coming years, always thankful and privileged to be in a position to assist my clients to achieve their health and wellness goals, and in retrograde, for the personal growth that she was awarded in doing so.
In 2005/6 Karen’s fiancé, now husband Luke and I were fortunate to travel overseas. She was working as a Massage Therapist at Neals Yard Remedies Edinburgh and was impressed with their multidisciplinary business model combining varied therapies and services under the one roof. A French ski resort was the next setting for us that allowed her to offer Remedial treatment to our chalet guests after a hard day on the slopes.
Karen cherishes my other roles as wife and mother (her most challenging job so far) to three energetic children and now fully understand the definition of busy! She’ll be forever grateful to her family for the joy and lessons that they bring to her life, and she knows they’ve made me a better version of myself, and a better therapist as a result.
Her interests include spending time with loved ones, friends, preparing and eating nutritious and delicious food, time outdoors, yoga, weight training and holidays
As a therapist she is honoured to assist in facilitating her clients rehabilitation or wellness goals, and is continually in awe of the human body and its capacity to heal itself.
During treatments, Karen establishes a real connection with her clients by listening to them, empathising, and thus tailoring the massage therapy to the individual.
Karen is a member of Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
