Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Practitioner: Jodie James

Vinyasa flow Yoga is built on movement coordinated with breath, flowing from one posture into the next. It is based on the Ashtanga Yoga tradition and classes will usually incorporate some meditation and breathing practices as well as a sequence of postures. Vinyasa flow is perfect for those wanting to build strength, flexibility and a higher level of fitness.

Monday evening beginner’s class – 6:30pm

Start your week off by doing something just for you!
This class is perfect for people wanting to try a Vinyasa flow style yoga class for the first time. The class will begin with a guided breathing practice to establish a connection to the breath and the body before moving into a gentle warm up and a Vinyasa flow sequence. This class will build some heat in the body which is balanced by restorative poses and breathe work. The class will finish with a calming guided relaxation to melt away tension and blissfully take you into the rest of your week.

Friday Morning Wake up Class – 6:30am

This class is slightly stronger than the Monday beginner’s class, setting you up for a confident Friday and a fantastic weekend. Those attending this class can expect to be guided in a breathing practice before moving into a warm up and the Vinyasa flow sequence. This class is designed to wake up the body and get the prana or energy flowing, releasing any tension that has built up throughout the week. It is perfect for people with a slightly higher level of general fitness who are wanting to build on their practice. This class will finish with a guided relaxation to restore the body before you float off into your Friday.

Always remember to let your teacher know if you are experiencing any physical discomfort or have any injury flare ups so that your practice can be tailored to your needs.
